Dear Schola Cantorum,
OK-Just when I didn't think the Dutch Carol could get any better IT DID! Mr. Adam, the Cathedral Organist, was SOOOO impressed with how you sang that piece! Also you made some nice progress on the Advent 1 music. I have decided to throw a curve ball your way and add in a new piece of music because you are learning so quickly. It is in French so we will have to work hard on the language. We will be working a lot on it this Thursday so please, stay healthy and make it to rehearsal. We had almost perfect attendance this last week, and it sure was awesome to hear you in full force!

See you Thursday, Ms. S

Dear Schola,
What a FUN and productive rehearsal! We celebrated our accomplishments and yet buckled down and really got a nice start on our Advent and Christmas music. The Dutch Carol is so great! We have only 5, count 'em, 5 rehearsals until Readings and Carols. If you miss even one more rehearsal that's 20% of the remaining rehearsal time. Remember, we can only achieve the goals we have set if ALL participate. So, I will see you Thursday ready to dig even deeper. If you weren't here yesterday you missed Fr. Ryan coming in and thanking you for your beautiful music last Sunday. He is so great!(and he thinks YOU are great, too!)

Dear Schola Cantorum,
I HAVE THE BEST JOB EVER!!!! You simply were amazing yesterday singing the 10:00 Mass. You watched Dr. Savage SO well, and you sang with a lot of excitement. I was also increadibly proud of how well you sang the way we practiced. Sometimes that can be hard to do. So now, off we go preparing for Readings and Carols. We have only 6, count 'em, 6 rehearsals until the service, so I really need near perfect attendance from each of you! We will hit the ground running on Thursday, and I have a 4 way tie for the 4 people who hung their vestments up perfectly, plus....did the entire choir score special treats because the vestments were in perfect numerical order???!!! Stay tuned, and we will announce the results Thursday!
Cheers, Ms. Sunde

Great work yesterday! THe rehearsal was really productive and those of you who were here are way ahead! I guess now is a good time to remind you that if our choir was a soccer team we probably wouldn't win many games if we had 1/3 of the team absent when we practice! (we had 9 singers gone today..I sure hope you weren't super sick!) Let's all get good rest this week so we can be strong and healthy for our final rehearsal next week before we sing with the Cathedral Choir men and orchestra. You are going to love the strings!!!

musicsmlWOW! Schola Cantorum, I could never have imagined a more exciting way to start out the choir year!! You sang SO beautifully on Sunday, and I was so proud of how much effort each of you was putting forth. I could REALLY tell that each of you was doing your best. Nature's Praise was awesome. The way you used your voices on words like "lightning and thunder" and "splashed of light" was thrilling. It made parishioners turn in their seats and look back! For the Beauty of the Earth was really beautiful too. I can tell you LOVE that song (and so do I).

New singers, you did a very good job and worked so hard. Thank you! Thank you to the returning singers for helping them out and being good leaders. WHAT A TEAM EFFORT!!!!!! See you Thursday...we have LOTS of work to do on the Missa Sancta Nicolai and I will assign voice parts, so don't miss out!
