Tomorrow's Musicians Today
Youth musicians have been an essential part of the liturgical life of St. James for nearly a century. Today the Cathedral's Youth Music Program has four accomplished choirs. These choirs sing at the Sunday Noon mass on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month and on special feast days. Continuing a long-standing Cathedral tradition, candle-lit Cathedral children choirs join the youth readers in the ancient Office of Readings and Carols.
“Besides singing all together, you must also sing well. This is not easy; it demands much practice and hard work, but it is possible, and therefore you must practice and work so as to make your singing as perfect as you can.” Paul VI, Address to the Little Singers
